X-men review from a true comic book fan... - X-Men: The Last Stand Reviews

well i just came back from seeing the first show this morning. I've been a x-men fan since i first read the comic way back when i was really young. I since read every comic, book, etc... since up till a few years ago when everything started to change and they got a new look. The first movie wasn't as good as i expected... I had high hopes of seeing my childhood heros on the big screen.. maybe to high... but it wasn't a complete waste of my time. It was ok,,, the 2nd one got a little better but the story was skipping ahead and all over the place in the x-men world... now we have X3 the last stand. The start of the movie was great. It seemed they finally got wolfverines character down... but there were many things as a old school fan as myself noticed was wrong... yes its a good movie for those that aren't into x-men as strongly as i used to be but for new fans it is great i'm sure. One thing that really stood out was juggernuts role... Now here is a little background on him 1. He's not a mutant! sorry but i am not sure what they have him made out to be in the newer x-men comics but the oldjuggernut was not a mutant. He is the stepbother of Professor X. 2. His power comes from a gemstone which he had placed inside his helmet. Once the helmet is off.. he returns to normal. that is the real background on him... there are much more little stuff like that in all 3 movies that kind of made me not like them as much due to it not sticking to the true story line. Overall... even a die hard fan like me.. got around some of those little mistakes and thought overall it was a decent movie. It is way better then the other 2. The graphics are very nice, the action is non-stop and it touches you. Not bad... not bad at all... maybe one day they will make a movie that is true to a comic...
