If you love action films, go see MI:3. If you love comic book adaptations, go see "Superman Returns" (which looks fabulous). If you loved the last two X-Men films, stay home and don't see this one. You'll be disappointed in the story, the acting, the make-up, everything. Even Wolverine, who usually steals the show, does several things that are completely out of character for him and make no sense. The direction of the fight scenes is horrible, but the (lack of) direction of the personal moments is worse.

An hour & 45 min of non-stop action. Everyone was at the edge of their seats. No one wanted the movie to come to an end. How could you ask for more? This movie was worth much more than the ticket price. My overall rating is A+.

I was so excited to see this one that I saw the midnight showing with the X-Men nuts, but I was highly dissapointed. I wish I had never gone to see it. Really, I had to convince myself afterwards that the storyline was different just so that I could sleep. It was a weak ending to the trilogy and by killing off all of the strong female characters (only leaving HAlle Berry)is an insult of the deepest kind. Jean GRey finally is in tune with all her powers, making her the most powerful mutant the world has ever seen- but she can't control them and eventually has to be killed.--Womens Lib people? I mean seriously, the strongest mutant ever is a woman that can't learn to harnest her power and instead must be killed, not to mention Rouge gives her's up for a man?! For shame to the writer of the screenplay and to those who excepted this story...its total crap. If it was not for the visuals and the character acting of Wolverine, the Beast and Magneto(I'm quite upset about him too but I don't want to give everything away)I would have demanded my money back.

when did it become ok for story tellers to deny the responsibility to tell the story and instead make up their own. That was so lame. They butchered the pride of the essense that is X-Men. They castrated heros or just killed them off. It was so disrespectful to the fans, but I guess that's ok because 75% of movie goers just wanna see booms and bams and Halle Berry. (Don't get me wrong, I love her, and I love Storm, but she ruined yet another super hero because she's the "it" girl right now. Go win more Oscars hun...) Where's the responsibility to be true to the story? I think their biggest flaw was having the war be the focal point of the movie while butchering and adding in the biproducts of the Phoenix Saga. And that was hardly the war. They took down a pharmacy... big deal. Ugh... I wish they'd issue a recall on this movie before all the fans get their feelings hurt. I really never want to see another super hero movie... Doesnt false advertisement work for movies too? I expected to see the GREAT X-Men... Legends... but they were movie maker pawns... or gambits... BOOO!

Violent end new beginning to x-men franchise - X-Men: The Last Stand Reviews

The movie is rather violent, definitely not the campy style of comic book movies like spider man or batman and robin. Many characters and humans die in the movie, some rather gruesome and disturbing. The visual effects are stunning as well as the fast-paced action. There is some passionate sexual scene in the movie also. Overall the plot is a good one, in which a mutant antibody/cure is formulated and so there begins two sides of the issue. Magneto assembles an army and xavier has his x-men. it's a combination of stories, like the x-men cartoon "graduation day" in which the x-men are left to fend for themselves and to think for themselves. Without giving away the plot, let's say toward the middle people get shocked and silent b/c something big and violent happens that is quite unexpected and gut-wrenching... it's like "what just happened? that can't be right, can it?" this sets the morose and violence tone to the movie. there is some foul language in the film as well (B word and Dic----- word, etc.)\ There are some twists in the movie, mainly to the characters in the movie, to set a whole new enemies/allies, etc for the most likely next movie sequel (apocolpyse?)... the plot was quick and choppy, but that is b/c a lot information was fit in the movie. overall, it's an enjoyable movie that i would watch again on dvd... it's rather violent and graphic PG-13/R version. it opens the door of new characters and storylines in the next movie. there's many new characters that are fun to watch and make you excited. finally, i would stay until the end ie after the credits scroll by, there's an added scene in the end that will relieve some people of what happened prior.

I just got back from the midnight showing (which was sold out, btw, and it was on FIVE screens at once) and it WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The visuals, storyline, acting...everything was on par with the series and made one HELL of a finale to an already superior film trilogy. I LOVED IT, as did everyone I went with. Phoenix/Jean Gray was the best in my opinion, she looked soooo scary as Dark Phoenix, it was perfect. Deaths in the movie, thats all I will say...and they shocked me. Yes, indeed. But what else can you expect for a third installment of a trilogy? They DID however leave it open, I guess you could say. You just have to go and see it for yourself! DEFINITELY AN A++++ MOVIE!!!!! I predict it breaking box office records, I really do.

Unxpected - X-Men: The Last Stand Reviews

I couldn't wait to see the Last Stand in the Xmen series, but I gotta say I was a little disappointed. Some the characters that we all got to know so well in the previous series role's changed so dramatically or disappeared that it almost makes you want take the script and change up some of the movie. It was still an Xcellent movie, however, and even if you didn't see the previous movies, you'll still feel entertained. This movie is different from the other two in that it has more of a serious mood to it and it's supposed to, but for the fans of the first two in the series it will change your expectations of the film and alot of its characters. The thing that stands out the most about X3 is the amazing visuals and action-packed pace of the story. Even though this movie is quite different from the rest, you'll still leave the theatre feeling "cured" after seeing the final climax the other two had built up. As far as the best overall, though, X2 still holds first place.

The plot is full of tragic and expected events. Phoenix, a class 5 mutant/river/hurricane (you get the picture) as we all knew was going to play a central role to the plot opposite Hugh Jackman whose usually excellent performance is this timed seemingly dragged down by the side characters. You can tell they all wanted more time. It's like Magneto telling Pyro, "Stand back and let the pawns go first". Indeed there are perhaps too many pawns stealing the star power in this flick. Surrounding this plot is an excessive amount of controversy around cures. At times it seems as belabored as AI's corn starch thick "pinocchio-blue fairy" allusion but by the end, it seemed to have been just subtle enough not to make this a mutant object lesson in pharmacology and disability rights. The directing did seem to pull off a few good onliners for Hugh Jackman as well as some not so good one liners reminiscent of Han Solo's famous "laugh it up fuzzball" in reference to Chewbacca, I mean Beast as well as a short little "Noooo-argh!" to avoid stealing a Darth Vader line. This film will provide a bit of tragedy as Charles, Scott die, Mystique and Magneto are cured of their mutant power and...well, I'm not going to spoil all of it but let's just say the very end leaves this open for perhaps a final, last stand after this.

The theatre was abuzz tonight. This movie had it all. The audience broke out in applause at least 10 times. I am not a big fanboy but I was seriously impressed. There are a few plot turns and deaths that some people may find disturbing but I definately feel they added to the story. Go see this movie and tell your friends....The x men are bast in the best installment to date in the series...

Wow. Head out to the theatre now this movie was awesome. I have been waiting for this movie for a long time and it was worth the wait. The visuals for this movie were just awesome. X-Men: The Last Stand was better than the first but not as good as the second. If you wan to ogo see a comic book style action packed Sci-Fi movie its worth the money and don't let any of the people who are giving this F's stop you X-Men fans from seeing the movie just go and have a good time. Another thing the acting was awesome I think that Hugh Jackman does a great job playing Wolverine he can be funny sometimes and serious in the movie and of course has most of the action scenes it was just awesome thats it if your a fan go see it if your not I think you may still like it!!! This is the summer movie everybody has been waiting for!

Better than the second one - X-Men: The Last Stand Reviews

If you come to see this movie you will not be thinking " Is it almost over???" I do think they killed to many characters and i don't think that Jean Grey should have come back but they gave a logical reason explaining why she came back. Oh and at the first part in the neighborhood there is a guy mowing his lawn. The guy mowing was the writer of the X-MEN comic books. And i think it is neat how they think up different kinds of powers for each person. That would be kind of hard to do. I wish that MYSTIQUE would have been on the movie longer and ROGUE too because I like both of them. I also enjoyed some of the newer characters like that bald guy that could cure the mutants, the bird guy, and BEAST. Oh one other thing i didn't like is that near the end you see magneto at the park near some kind of chess club thing and THIS IS A SPOILER !!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T READ UNLESS YOU HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE!!!!!!!! When the metal chess piece started moving even though he had lost his powers. But that could mean that when ROGUE and BOBBY are holding hands or something that might mean that her powers may come back. Which would mean that the cure was only a temporary thing. Which makes sense since when they are near the boy they can't use their powers. OH AND THAT MEANS MYSTIQUE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!! P.S. Watch after the credits because there is another seen but if you didn't get it scroll down below only if you saw it though.... Aparently there was a guy at this hospital that didnt have a mind but he still lived and when the proffessor dies which i think is stupid just. keep him cuz he comes back and posseses the mind of the guy who had no mind.

A different view than the first two - X-Men: The Last Stand Reviews

Visually - Amazing. The third in the trilogy has what the first two lack, which is serious kick-ass action sequences. This film is X-citing as hell, but not without problems, especially for the X-men purists. There are hints at deeper meanings, which the first two films gave in full, but only momentarilly in this one. If you are a BIG fan of the comics, espeically Chris Claremont's work on them, you'll both appreciate this one as well as maybe be upset at a few parts. If not, then you may not have a problem with anything, or at the same time, maybe you won't appreciate it as much either. Nevertheless, if you enjoyed the first two, and you want to see the summer started off with a bang, this is the movie to see!

Well, all i'm going to say is someone dropped the ball......BAD. The Director and Screen Writer need to be shot for trying to think "outside the box" and trying to be creative. The movie had NOTHING to do with X Men, it's like someone tried making there own story with X Men characters. Seriously not even worth watching, it might even be the worst movie i've even seen. At first I thought this movie wouldn't do as much as the first two X-Men's because Brett Ratner was directing it. But when I saw the traliers and the TV Spots for it, it looked like Ratner was knowing what he was doing!!! I think X3 was the best one out of the series. The visuals were perfect and the battles were so awesome!!! It was all perfect! I wish that Nightcrawler would have come back. The story was well written, about the cure. I think Brett's directing was a little better than what Bryan Singer had done. I really recommend this movie, it is way better than the first two film, and I think you'll have a blast!! Out of 5, it's a 4.5.

The ultimate last stand... - X-Men: The Last Stand Reviews

X3 was a superb finish to an extroadinary trilogy, i say trilogy just because these are the first three x-men movies to made. action-packed loaded with even more mutants, this movie is a great final chapter. The story of Jean Gray and her other identity of Phoenix lead into the whole premise of the movie, mutants fighting for their lives as a cure for their mutant chromosome has been discovered. This movie effectively establishes a point, characters, and their actions; all of that compiled with exciting action sequences and fights, you will leave the theatre rather pleased. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to make it this time, so those who don't know don't worry, i am not going to ruin it for you. I was most pleased that even though this movie was not directed by Bryan Singer, Brett Ratner did an excellent job in closing out this trilogy. Combine great directing, with believable acting, and superb visuals, you end up with X3: The "Ultimate" Last Stand. So X3, again, closes out this trilogy with a bang. It also effectively leads into the upcoming projects of Wolverine and Magneto, as they become more of the dominant characters. X3 is one to remember and not one to disappoint.

im sorry but this movie sucked. My first and biggest point, Phoenix, so not even close. Yes i understand:2 hours, the only have two hours to tell a tale spaning a good lenght of a series. I could have exepted the retelling of the phoenix as made in the story (i wont spoil it) if. First i like the parallel of dark and light phoenix that was cool, but if shes the phoenix why dont we ever see it, WHERE IS THE BLOOD GIANT BURN BIRD, you know the thing in the end of 2. Gay super power, i can pick things up and disintegrate things with my mind, so not even anything like the phoenix. Second, that was a great op for them to explain rogues superpowers for the movie, those dumb basterds. remember that 2 hours thing, yeah rogue has a huge back story and it could have all been skipped by have rogue take phoenixes power, she can fly, shes super strong, and could kick marvel girls ass. i know that most people will find this a rant from a comic book nerd, well i am, but as a person watching the movie series and viewing it as a new chapter and retelling story, it still sucks. They could have at least justified some things they started in the first one. you know, rogue sucking, anything about weapon x u think they got it right the first time (haha), GAMBIT, and not killing Cyclops like that u basterds. There are some good points about this movie, they actually get somethings right. BLUE TEAM, storm, wolverine, colossus, kitty, ice souldnt be there but its cool, he always kicks ass. Thats right bobby, they do a great job on u. Beast kicked ass, and angel was cool. this movie gets its does, has some good parts and cool nerd *****, but just to much wrong, to much combining of characters (Quicksilver, scarlot witch, calesto and so on), characters that shouldnt be there like spike, Jamie Madrox (horrible apperance) and so not even as cool as he should be, and plague. This movie is a bad end of a series, and even if it isnt over, they have still ruined some of my favorite childhood comic characters for me. Worst ending ever, crap, and anyone who knows anything, the cure isnt permanent. READ THE COMICS ITS SO MUCH BETTER.

One was okay, Two was great, Three was the biggest piece of crap a 400 pound person could excrete! For all of you that didn't collect the cards or get into X-men-the Phoenix was pretty much the one of the biggest and exciting characters in the X-men franchanise. However, in the movie she is so boring and lame and off who she is suppose to be. And talk about a horrible plot! Not only that the movie was ridiculously choppy! You get no explanation of characters and you have to be an Avid X-men reader or follower to get what some of the characters' significance are. I swear, the movie spend more time in the President's confess room then anywhere else. NOT ONLY THAT THE WORST PART WAS THE BATTLES. If you saw the commericals for X-men you basically saw all the good battle scences. WHat a disappointment, especially since i went to see it at 12 am and i had to go to work at 6:30!

TheWife and I just returned from seeing X-Men 3: The Last Stand. Why is it called "The Last Stand"? Because God willing, there will never be another piece of foam crap like this unleashed on the unsuspecting public. The writer of this piece of drivel must have, at some point, thought to himself "I am pretty good at pissing off my friends, and most of my family. How can I use that skill on the masses? I know, I'll take a cultural icon and pull a Highlander 2 on it!" Seriously, watching this movie was like watching baby Seals being clubbed, but only after the clubbers took 18 bucks off of each of them. The movie started off with promise, then the three minute mark hit and it suddenly took a belly flop off of Niagra Falls. There were scenes in this movie that you could hear the whole audience groan together, like some large and rusty door being slowly opened. My question is this. Why does Brett Ratner hate audiences. There was no point to this film other than making legions of fans crazy mad. The only thing that could have made this worse if there was some kind of sexual trist between Wolverine and The Beast, filmed in a clinical manner with play by play explanations as to what was going on. This movie is the "Showgirls" of comic book movies. This makes "Catwoman" seem Oscar candidate worthy. This script is probably why Bryan Singer jumped ship and went to 'Superman'.

Dissapointing - X-Men: The Last Stand Reviews

***Spoilers so dont read if you haven't seen the movie*** Xmen3: The Last Stand is possibly one of the most dissapointing movies i have ever seen. I was excited to see that the Phoenix saga was going to be a big factor for the movie based on the ending of X2. The direction that was taken though clearly did not stay anywhere near what the comics had established. 10 minutes into the movie the undisputed leader of the Xmen, Cyclops, is killed. How can u do this. Cyclops is one of the most important of all the xmen. This is where things begin to decline. I know that the movie couldn't use the actual way that Jean Grey becomes Phoenix, but the way the movie decribes it, it seems that Phoenix is this completely evil prescense that shows no remorse nor cares about anything which is completely not true. The Phoenix is not completely evil in fact, it stays in a constant battle between good and evil. Things take a complete nose dive to oblivion when Jean Grey in all her rage kills Professor X. At this point in time i cannot imagine how Stan Lee didn't object to this. From here on out the movie strays further and further from the Marvel comics which lead to even more dissapointment. Another thing that i didn't like was that they introduced new mutants but they didn't really develop the characters enough. It was cool to see the new mutants and their powers but there was no story to them. They were just there for some battles and then they died. There could have been a few more scenes with Angel, other than the 3 he was in. If the attempt to depict the Phoenix saga was already bad enough, i could not believe the way Juggernaut was depicted. The scene where the Xmen first enounter Juggernaut had the makings for much disaster. Here is professor X with just Wolverine and Storm walking up to Juggernaut. And nothing happens. I guess he no longer is professor x's half brother and wishes to kill him. so the having juggernaut is actually quite dissapointing minus one key phrase. There is much more that makes this movie dissapointing with the way Rouge is depicted, how Collossus and Kitty are now a main members but there is no development to their characters, and the unecessary fight scenes. The one bright note was Ian McKellen's portrayal of Magneto. He continued to do a great job of showing how Magneto depises humans for the treatments of mutants everywhere. This could have been a good movie had more time been put into it to develop the story in a way that was closer to the comics. If there is a 4th movie which was left open with the end, i hope that the movie is taken into a darker direction.

My God, my God. I am so, so, so disappointed. If Hollywood wonders why it's loosing money these days, X-Men: The Last Stand is one very good reason. First, I am a life long X-Men fan. Second, I am a college educated, at one time militant, African American. That means I relate to the X-Men story in ways people who are not like me can't understand. Being born a mutant in the community majority's eyes. Of course I know what it feels like to be viewed as "different." Of course I know what it feels like to have your view of the world dismissed as 'mutant'. I was born with it, like the X-Men. I speak from deep, psychological regions when I say I relate to the whole X-Men story line. So, to me, this movie, and the first two movies are profoundly important in ways that I can't put into words. Before you start saying I'm taking this way to seriously, remember, "Birth of A Nation" still has an impact on American movie making and Hollywood stereotypes today. Now to the movie. ***Spoiler Alert*** First, Cyclops getting killed off in the first 10 minutes of the movie is just plain wrong. It's obvious the movie's pollsters asked fans who should go? Wolverine or Cyclops. Take the red eye. And correct me if I'm wrong, here, but did Prof X call Dark Phoenix "Raven" at one point? Who is that? While I'm on that subject, why did Ratner (the Director) make her look like some anorexic demon-possessed bird when she flared up? And why was she made to be so important anyway when in the comic she killed herself. This was incredibly dumb, insulting, etc. It seems the producers said in a smoke filled room: "No one really reads that comic anyway. Who cares what they think. Most fans don't know ***** about the story so let's make it sexy." For some reason, assasination comes to my mind right now. But let me digress. As for the story itself, if they wanted to, the mutants could easily wipe out mankind. That's never a question; The question of should they and how would the world go on without the delicate balance is the foundation of the coexistence in the comic. The movie really played up the Us Against Them angle when, if it were all real, it wouldn't be that way at all. It would be Us killed by Them, quite easily. The movie is an abomination in the eyes of real X-Men fans and I have to believe the major reviewers are getting some kind of payoloa to promote this waste of time. So much expository was just a bore. So much of it was all on the nose that it seemed like an amateur script writer and director put it together... not the brilliant mind of someone who would direct "The Usual Suspects." The whole Golden Gate Bridge thing was obvious superfluous C.G. and distasteful considering the number of innocent people who had to have died. (I know it's movie making, but writers of good movies have respect for life, fiction, fantasy or not. It's like blowing up the entire planet... that's not cool, man.) There's so much to say about this movie, but I'm getting angry thinking about the movie to write this review. So, let me end by saying this plain and simple. This movie sucked. Bad. With teeth!!!
